I Like Core JSF as well, along with the O'Reilly book JavaServer Faces
by Hans Bergsten (which I feel does a better job going over certain
concepts).

Both books describe working with JSF and Tiles, which I found useful.
(For more information about working with JSF and Tiles, e.g., using a
single tilesDispatch JSP, see

Buy both. The Core JSF book covers the HTMLDataTable and the DataTable
Model much better than the JSF in Action book. But the Core JSF book
is missing a great section on combining Struts with JSF. If you are
looking for a book where you can quickly find a paragraph on how to do
something quick (as in working with the DataTable Model) then I like the
Core JSF book better. To bad JSF The Complete Reference was pushed back
until August 1.

Just my opinion.

I have both "JSF in Action" and "Core JSF". If you are buying only one
book I would recommend "JSF in Action". However, I do find both books
helpful.

Hi all,

I'd like to start learning more about JSF. I've had a recommendation for
_Core Java Server Faces_ -- do people here agree that would be a good
choice? Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Chris
