I've been with eapps.com in Atlanta, Ga. for over two years. I have a virtual private server on a linux box which is to say I have root access. I have everything I need to support my Java development. Their service is excellent and their prices are fair. I can change my hosting plan on a daily basis if I needed more or less resources. I really like that flexibility. They have been quick to respond to my needs.I recently moved to the midwest but I'm staying with eapps.
