The key here is "expert". You can know pretty much everything you need to know as a J2EE architect about HTML and not be an expert in HTML. This, however, in my opinion, would include all technical details about all HTML tags. I cannot think of a single thing that you should forget if you know HTML in order to do J2EE architecture.
