I submited a patch for this in
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31034

They're is no *pretty* doc on this (tutorial or sample) but you can look
at bugzilla comments for simple usage :

wildcard in struts-config.xml :

<action path="/Test*"
        forward="tiles:test.{1}"/>

wildcard in tiles-defs.xml :

<definition name="tiles:test.*" path="/testlayout.jsp">
    <put name="testName" value="{1}"/>
    <put name="def" value="tiles:another.definition.{1}"
type="definition"/>
</definition>
