Hi Peter! In http://apache.mirror.netmonic.com/jakarta/tomcat-5/v5.5.4/README.html the developers claim that Tomcat 5.5 requires the JRE 5.0. We didn't have the problem you found when we tested tomcat 5.5. Which classloader are you using?
