However, I can't click on any of the .war files that come with 1.2.4 and launch WinZip. It says, "Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from c:\jakarta\jakarta-struts-1.2.4\lib\commons-validator.jar". Every one of them does the same thing.
This part here just sounds like Windows is trying to run the WARs like the JAR files that they are. Can you right-click and "open with..." WinZIP?
FWIW, I just used command-line (Mac OS X) "unzip" to unpack the commons-validator.jar from a freshly downloaded 1.2.4 distribution...
