Struts 2 version ? App Sever ? You can implement your own logic how to handle validation using ActionValidatorManager interface - there are two known implementations - AnnotationActionValidatorManager (used by Struts 2) and DefaultActionValidatorManager (used be XWork when running without Struts 2).
