Suit yourself... The recent nightlies are incredibly stable, and if they
tag and release 1.2.1 on Wednesday, you will be missing a couple of days
of minor changes.
I also use nightlies and have no problem deploying them in my personal stuff or projects under my full control (after complete testing of course, as far as the project goes).
However, for the project in context, I have to follow deployment rules/requirements and one of them is non nightly|rc|beta|alpha versions. Version 1.2 is not visible on the site, which is a pitty; I'm sure there are many cases where dev people have to convince upper staff that although the latest visible release is 1.1, the 1.2 they want to use is a 'proper' release...
