Thanks to everyone who replied. My problem was:
INFO: Initializing, config='org.apache.struts.action.ActionResources',returnNull=true 24/05/2004 14:05:55 org.apache.commons.digester.Digester error SEVERE: Parse Error at line 18 column 19: The content of element type "set-property" must match "EMPTY". org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The content of element type "set-property" must match "EMPTY".
In my struts-config file had the following entry:
<set-property property="definitions-parser-validate" value="true"> </set-property>
When I changed it to:
<set-property property="definitions-parser-validate" value="true"></set-property>
The errors went away. Can anyone tell me why this is the case?
because the element wasn't empty. It had at least one newline character as its content.
This is a good reason to render the element using the empty-element syntax <set-property .../> instead of <set-property...></set-property>
