Resetting Chat Fields in Frames

I use frames in a struts chat.  I have one frame that is not refreshed 
because it is the submission frame for messages. The problem is that I send 
the data to another frame, so I am having difficulty resetting the 
submission frame to empty or to null.  I will have to use JavaScript if I 
use HTML, I assume.  Is there any device in struts to set this JavaScript?

Page A is the entry form and sends the message to

Page B which is refreshed with each message.

How do I change A to a null value in the submission text field without 
refreshing page A?

P.S.  I know how to refresh A.  That is the easy solution but it makes the 
use of frames silly.
