Maxim:
I figured it out.
To drag and drop a file onto the whiteboard, one must grab the filename itself, 
not the icon associated with the filename.
This seems like a UI bug to me because, in my opinion, the filename and the 
icon should be all one UI element.

Is the issue reproducible in OM 4.0.3 (latest release)?
Can you additionally check browser DEV console?
