The picture is being grabbed and encoding using java on client started screen share The being played on all other clients.
The first thing I would propose would be to set up Oracle JDK to the client started screen share. (but you seems to already tried this) I would try to figure out is the problem with encoder or with player ... Is the issue reproducible in one player only? Maybe other clients are able to display shared screen? I'm currently on Ubuntu 13.04 with all latest updates and default Unity desktop, and it works as expected :( We are currently using java to grab the screen and encode it.
