I've heard conflicting things about what Hive Standalone Metastore requires. I untarred hive-standalone-metastore-3.0.0-bin.tar.gz and ran bin/start-metastore, which results in the following error: "Cannot find hadoop installation: $HADOOP_HOME or $HADOOP_PREFIX must be set or hadoop must be in the path" So does Hive standalone need Hadoop or is this a configuration error?
