What is your hive sql ? And please check the hive.log which may have more info.
(By default hive.log is located in /tmp/${user}/hive.log )

iam using hive 1.1 and tez 0.7...
Whenever iam trying to INSERT data into hive table using tez via java iam
getting following error:
Exception in thread "main" org.apache.hive.service.cli.HiveSQLException: Error
while compiling statement: FAILED: SemanticException [Error 10293]: Unable to
create temp file for insert values Expression of type TOK_TABLE_OR_COL not
supported in insert/values
