The only currently known issues with the improved display on
"staging/1.6.0" are:
* The mysterious corruption noted below.
* "Ghosting" of high-contrast, moving borders when lossy encoding is
involved.
Definitely feel free to dig in and test.

Hello!,
Looking at deploying a new instance, since 1.5.5 is from last April
I'm pondering going with 1.6.0 or HEAD, is there any known drawback in
addition to the one mentioned?.
Regards.

All
I'm already deploying guacd 1.6.0 in favour of 1.5.5 but keeping the 1.5.5
client for now. I get a fix for an audio issue that 1.55 introduced and Ubuntu
RDP sessions work (web sockets or something)
I have locally 10 users and well there is an international shipping company
with 10,000 odd ships and a TX firm with rather a lot of users who are very
happy with Guacamole. I have a few other customers. I obviously can;t be more
explicit.
So, if you need it, compile guacd from source. I'm using the tagged 1.6.0
which is not the master version. Also note you will have to generate the
Makefile and use it!
I have not seen any performance regressions but then I am not all users so do
your due dilligence and test relentlessly and have a backout plan.
Cheers
Jon

Hello,
Whats the tentative timeline to release guacamole-server 1.6.0 ?
There is no tentative release date at the moment - there is some ongoing
work to address performance regressions associated with one of the major
changes in the 1.6.0 code (Graphic Pipeline), and, once that's confirmed
as having been completely fixed, we'll be much closer.
AND, if you want to test, please do! See the thread on dev@:
https://lists.apache.org/thread/4d5gq3945qbjym6q1q93gxxrxwdlb3jr
Unless the performance regressions are still reproducible, the only
known issue with the performance improvements at the moment is that
scroll/copy detection will occasionally corrupt the display. This seems
timing-related and is easier to reproduce when the server is under heavy
load.
