Mine works if I specify credentials in the connection configurations with NLA 
security mode. I ran into this weird scenario only if I leave credentials blank 
with NLA security mode (see below screenshot). I always use NLA security mode. 
So, my observations are very similar to what ones from Eby’s.

if it helps, I am running containerized guacamole v1.5.5 using docker compose
