thanks for the hint. You're right; ffmpeg had been installed from "okay" repo: ================================================================================= Package Arch Version Repository Size ================================================================================= Installing: ffmpeg x86_64 3.2.4-1.el7.centos okay 7.0 M ffmpeg-devel x86_64 3.2.4-1.el7.centos okay 277 k
I didn't realised it at that moment and tried to make guacamole on centos 8 minimal instead. That was a bit harder as for most of the packages I had to download rpm from /pkgs.org/ manually and install. Long story short it was successful on centos 8; couldn't find any ffmpeg for that, though: ------------------------------------------------ guacamole-server version 1.1.0 ------------------------------------------------ Library status: freerdp2 ............ yes pango ............... yes libavcodec .......... no libavutil ........... no libssh2 ............. yes libssl .............. yes libswscale .......... no libtelnet ........... no libVNCServer ........ yes libvorbis ........... yes libpulse ............ yes libwebsockets ....... yes libwebp ............. yes wsock32 ............. no Protocol support: Kubernetes .... yes RDP ........... yes SSH ........... yes Telnet ........ no VNC ........... yes Services / tools: guacd ...... yes guacenc .... no guaclog .... yes FreeRDP plugins: /usr/lib64/freerdp2 Init scripts: /etc/init.d Systemd units: no Just now; I tried your solution and built guacamole on centos 7 minimal without ffmpeg and it was successful; here is the config on centos 7: ------------------------------------------------ guacamole-server version 1.1.0 ------------------------------------------------ Library status: freerdp2 ............ yes pango ............... yes libavcodec .......... no libavutil ........... no libssh2 ............. yes libssl .............. yes libswscale .......... no libtelnet ........... no libVNCServer ........ yes libvorbis ........... yes libpulse ............ yes libwebsockets ....... no libwebp ............. yes wsock32 ............. no Protocol support: Kubernetes .... no RDP ........... yes SSH ........... yes Telnet ........ no VNC ........... yes Services / tools: guacd ...... yes guacenc .... no guaclog .... yes FreeRDP plugins: /usr/lib64/freerdp2 Init scripts: /etc/init.d Systemd units: no Type "make" to compile guacamole-server. And back to your question regarding libavcodec/ffmpeg for recording the session, i'd say no it's not essential; So all good with the current setup/config.
