Hey Suraj, sorry for the late reply. In principle, there are no limitations from that mode, and it is fine to use it in production. Flink is extensively using the local execution for testing.
In many cases, it runs exactly the same code as you would run on a fully distributed setup. There are some shortcuts in the network stack for efficiency reasons.
