There is this Jira issue, along with a PR: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-8424. But no-one has worked on it for a while. There were some difficulties in getting it to work even with that "minor" update. I'd be very happy if someone with more Cassandra experience would pick up this issue.
Also the shading makes it not possible to easily exchange the driver. Is that correct?
