So it appears the issue was that I had setSteamTimeCharacteristic of EventTime env.setStreamTimeCharacteristic(TimeCharacteristic.EventTime);
removing this or setting it to env.setStreamTimeCharacteristic(TimeCharacteristic.IngestionTime); Then allowed the CEP Pattern code to execute resulting in getting the log messages I was expecting, thus actually processing.
