Currently each dialog starts @ $HOME, but when the user makes some choices, those are memorized in prefernces and later dialogs are opened from the last place the user selected for *this* particular dialog. Why should that be different? (other than the fact that preferences DB is flaky and needs a fix, but that's a different story).
