I ended up with the latest cassandra-driver 3.7.1 $ pip freeze | grep cas cassandra-driver==3.7.1 $ pip freeze | grep cql cql==1.4.0 cqlsh==5.0.3 And got this: Connection error: ('Unable to connect to any servers', {'x.x.x.x': ProtocolError("cql_version '3.3.1' is not supported by remote (w/ native protocol).
