2.1.x and 2.2.x are certainly stable, but... they will only be supported until November. The new tick-tock release strategy is designed to ensure stability. 3.3, which is (non-critical) bug fixes to 3.2, should be out shortly (vote in progress.) 3.4, with features such as SASI, will probably be out a month or so later.
