We have a stateful firewall<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stateful_firewall> between data centers for port 7000 (inter-cluster). How long should the idle timeout be for the connections on the firewall?
Similarly what's appropriate for streaming_socket_timeout_in_ms in cassandra.yaml? The default is 0 (no timeout). I presume that streaming_socket_timeout_in_ms refers to streams such as for bootstrapping and rebuilding. Thanks Donald A.
