The point of the FAQ link posted is that the default behavior in XFS when you specify none of (atime,relatime,noatime) is relatime. I'd love to see numbers on relatime vs. noatime; my sense is that the impact could be noticable but how significant would be dependent on your write and access patterns. =Rob
