Reading previous version's documentation and related information from that time in the past (like books) has value! It helps to understand decisions that were made and changed and some that are still the same.... like Secondary Indexes which were introduced in 0.7 when http://www.amazon.com/Cassandra-Definitive-Guide-Eben-Hewitt/dp/1449390412came out back in 2011.
