Are there any known issues when running C* on EC2? - Not that i know of but we prefer Ephimeral drives rather than EBS when using local storage on EC2 since local storage is gone at that point? - Tradeoff is in the replication factor you can also take regular snapshot and copy to some other location. You might want to place replicas in diffèrent ASG's to be safe. Launch new instance and run repair? - Nope you dont need it when you are bootstrapping the new nodes.
