The examples are old, except (at least) there is an up to date version
for java (look for 1.0.0 version)

appear to different from the 1.03 api for "insert" in needing a
"column_parent" which i am passing with an empty "super_column" yet
the server appears to think I am passing it? Any thoughts, I am not
making much progress on this.
