That thought has crossed my mind lately too; particularly in one of the recent threads. The problem seems analogous to 'fsck', and the distinction between fully expected by-design behavior needing fsck/repair is often conflated with fsck/repair in the sense of trying to fix something unexpected/buggy/broken Maybe "nodetool aes" or "nodetool antientropy"? -- / Peter Schuller
