Just so people know, there is an issue with MapReduce/Hadoop integration with cassandra 0.7 beta 3. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-1700
As you can see it has already been fixed and committed. However, if you're looking to test cassandra 0.7 with its hadoop integration either: 1) use beta 2 2) use 0.7 branch - http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/cassandra/branches/cassandra-0.7/ 3) use beta 3 with the patch in CASSANDRA-1700
