Simply use a shell wrapped up in <exec> task, output caught via
outputproperty for further processing, f.e. =

/sbin/ifconfig eth0 | grep 'inet addr:' | cut -d: -f2 | awk '{ print $1}'

Windows user may use ipconfig ..
