I'll try a smaller file tomorrow.

The only difference I have thought of is the way I got the .tgz files on the
account. I don't think this should make any difference, but off the account
it works on, I believed I ftped the files from a windows machine, and for
the build account I just moved a file that already existed in the /release/
directory to the AIX.tgz. Perhaps this could be it?
