Hello,

the pom files are descriptors of the jars in the maven environment. They give a
hint that ant jars will be in the future - not right now but hopefully in a few
days - be available for Ant API developers. For instance if you develop ant
custom tasks, or maybe a server application which is using ant API to do work
like copying files around - you could build your software using maven.

You can delete all these files, they are not needed. I might remove the md5 and
sha1 files from future distributions, they are uninteresting.

Regards,
Antoine
