You shouldn't need a "cvs client". If you are useing Windows, map the server CVS is installed on in explorer. Then it becomes the "F:" drive or what ever.
In advanced properties, add "F:\Programs Files\ CVS for NT" or where ever CVS is installed on the server to your path. Now if you type "cvs" in the command window, you will get a command line "usage" help reply. Now you can work out the command line that works for you and move it into Ant.
