subtasks as arbitary params?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has any pointers to a howto or sample code for 
nested subtasks used to pass an arbitary number of properties/params in 
the form of attribute value pairs, something like the <param> below?

<mytask destDir="foo">
   <param name="any name" value="any string" />
</mytask>
