Since we're just users of Hadoop Metrics 2, and not its developers, this might be a question better suited to the Hadoop general mailing list, to inquire as to how to configure Hadoop Metrics 2 for Prometheus. It does seem like they have some kind of support for it (https://hadoop.apache.org/docs/stable/hadoop-project-dist/hadoop-common/build/source/hadoop-common-project/hadoop-common/target/api/org/apache/hadoop/metrics2/sink/PrometheusMetricsSink.html), but I wouldn't know how to configure it.
