I tend to use the Accumulo monitor service (AKA master status page) for Accumulo-specific metrics and logs. Accumulo also offers fairly extensive JMX stats for integration into JMX-enabled monitoring systems. Take a look at docs/metrics.html for lists and descriptions of those metrics.
