-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I'm experiencing the following issue: Our UML's seem to hang consistently 2 times per minute for 2-10 seconds. I can type at SSH but it takes a few seconds for it to appear. 'ping' stops too, but does catch up (this is pinging from the host server to the virtual server): 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=329 ttl=64 time=0.122 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=330 ttl=64 time=0.085 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=331 ttl=64 time=0.081 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=332 ttl=64 time=0.082 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=333 ttl=64 time=0.084 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=334 ttl=64 time=0.053 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=335 ttl=64 time=0.052 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=336 ttl=64 time=0.093 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=337 ttl=64 time=2137 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=338 ttl=64 time=1137 ms 64 bytes from test.vserv (192.168.x.y): icmp_seq=339 ttl=64 time=137 ms and another VM (not at the same time): 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=37 ttl=64 time=0.097 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=38 ttl=64 time=0.098 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=39 ttl=64 time=9126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=40 ttl=64 time=8126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=41 ttl=64 time=7126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=42 ttl=64 time=6126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=43 ttl=64 time=5126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=44 ttl=64 time=4126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=45 ttl=64 time=3126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=46 ttl=64 time=2126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=47 ttl=64 time=1126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=48 ttl=64 time=126 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=49 ttl=64 time=0.080 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=50 ttl=64 time=0.098 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=51 ttl=64 time=0.092 ms 64 bytes from test2.vserv (192.168.x.z): icmp_seq=52 ttl=64 time=0.088 ms Just to be clear: SSH on the host server itself does not hang like this. It's not just the (virtual) network, the direct terminal (a tty of the ./linux process in a 'screen') hangs as well. I've tried running 'top' on the VM, but it doesn't reveal anything (no process >10% CPU). At the moment it stalls, 'top' stalls as well, so doesn't help much. 'top' on the host doesn't show anything CPU heavy either (no process more than a few % CPU, actually) Do you guys have any idea? Is this a known issue? Where to look? Both the UML and the host are running kernel 2.6.32. Thanks in advance, Bram Matthys.
