Hi UML people,

I'd like to be able to use i386 applications under a x86-64 UML (and
who doesn't? :/ ) Following a discussion today with jdike on IRC, we
had the idea of trying to compile a 32-bit UML using a 64-bit
toolchain, with the nesting level set to 1, and try to run that
"cross-UML" as a nested guest inside a "real" x86-64 UML.

So I logged in on my x86-64 host and tried

  make ARCH=um SUBARCH=i386

but I ran into really nasty error messages deep inside the glibc headers.

Has anyone succeeded in building a "cross-UML" (even without the
nesting)? Could you please advise on what combination of Linux
version, patches, and build tools I should use?

Thanks in advance,
