Hey Godmar, When I was experiencing the hang, I'd still get the output you list below. I wasn't saying that the patch was your answer, just that it's not necessarily the VDSO issue. In my experience, the issue disappeared when I used the 2.6.21.5 guest kernel instead of a 2.6.14 guest kernel on RHEL5 with 2.6.18 (host).

Scott, 2.6.22.5 appears to already contain this patch. FWIW, here is the startup output: Checking that ptrace can change system call numbers...OK Checking syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK Checking advanced syscall emulation patch for ptrace...OK Checking for tmpfs mount on /dev/shm...OK Checking PROT_EXEC mmap in /dev/shm/...OK Checking for the skas3 patch in the host: - /proc/mm...not found: No such file or directory - PTRACE_FAULTINFO...not found - PTRACE_LDT...not found UML running in SKAS0 mode which seems to indicate that the piece of code this patch addresses completes successfully. Maybe this was an issue with earlier FC6 host kernels? - Godmar On 9/5/07, Scott Mills <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi Godmar, > > I had the same symptom last week.
