Is hostfs broken currently? I ask because attempting to run the command
"sudo mount none /directory-on-vm/ -r -t hostfs -o /directory-on-host"
freezes the vm hardcore. It won't even respond to a uml_mconsole halt
command. Running top on the host shows the vm consuming 100% of cpu. I
have to kill the processes and restart the vm.

Before it dies, it outputs "block devices are not allowed to be mounted
read only" (that may not be the exact output; I don't have the error in
front of me).

If you leave the "-o /directory-on-host" option off, it mounts fine.
However, doing an ls on the mountpoint in the vm freezes it then.

I am running 2.6.18-bb1 on the vm (blaisorblade's precompiled binary),
and 2.6.20-15-server (linux kernel from ubuntu package) on the host.
