That patch is a development one (the fremap code is still in alpha stage and 
you do not need it). There is a skas-2.6.18-v9-pre9 one available; that said, 
there is anyway no guarantee that those patches apply on a non-vanilla kernel 
(as for any patches like that, you're basically on your own).

The 'normal' patch worked with no big changes at least till FC 5 and should 
work anyway.

I could compile the fremap work on vanilla 2.6.18, so I guess the problems are 
differences from vanilla.
