Hello!

I have a mind bogling problem with my guest's network connection. I have
several virtual servers which have direct connection to isp through virtual
switch. They get ip from isp and you can ping from them as well as use
tracepath but for some reason tcp connections doesn't seem to work.

Firewall on host has been set up so that it accepts all forwards to and from
those virtual servers. I have installed shorewall on virtual servers but it
doesn't matter if it's on or off the connection always behaves same way.

If I route packets through host then all is well but as soon as I try to use
direct connection I only get "Connection timed out". The connections which go
through host are masqueraded but masquerading is limited to private addresses
so it shouldn't matter. The interfaces directly connected to internet doesn't
differ from other interfaces in other way than using dhcp and having predefined
mac-addresses. All interface are preconfigured tap devices.

My friend who is a hacker checked my configurations and he didn't find anything
problematic although he isn't familiar with umls.

Regards,

Jyrki Jaakola
