What is the tool you use on your distro to make packages when you don't have root? On debian it is fakeroot, but there may be other tools. offcourse the ultimate fake-root tool would be UML itself :-). As for Yum on RHEL3: that really sucks, i Tried building the srpm but got nowhere. Why would you need RHEL and not CentOS? As far as I know they try to be very compatible. I would not expect RHEL on UML to be supported by RH anyway, so there is no penalty going with CentOS.
