No, if you say it that it consoles are on pty's, you should use pty's to 
connect to it.

Add con0=fd:0,fd:1 and the log messages will continue coming out (you think 
it's hung because at that point it's redirecting boot messages to the 
"correct" con0 location, i.e. a pty).

Apart from that warning (which you should ignore) any other problem?
