You still have to patch this kernel with the newest skas. 2.6.10 was not a 
very good version, you'd better try with 2.6.11 (or is 12 available for skas 
too?)

what version are you using for the guest kernel? In my experience the debian 
supplied uml kernel is hopelessly out of date, but this may be different for 
ubuntu.
