Hello,

i've set up an uml-machine with hostfs support, which I can confirm via
cat /proc/filesystems. When trying to mount the hosts filesystem via

mount none /mnt/host -t hostfs

I do not get any message but I cannot see any data of the hosts / in the
folder /mnt/host in the uml. when trying

mount none /mnt/home -t hostfs -o /home

I get the following error message:

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on none,
      missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
      dmesg | tail or so

Partial output of dmesg | tail is:

EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
VFS: Mounted root (ext3 filesystem) readonly.
EXT3 FS 2.4-0.9.19, 19 August 2002 on ubd(98,0), internal journal
^^^ Which UML version? How old is that? If it's older than 2.6.9-bs7 (or better 2.6.11.8-bs5) upgrade, if it's 2.4 then it depends more...

excuse me, that i left important info out. uml is kernel version 2.4.27-1um and the host is debian sarge (the testing one) with kernel 2.4.27.

which doesn't help much.

I'll appreciate any suggestions and help

Christian
