With tt mode configured, 500M is just over the maximum physical memory size.
The limit is 470M-480M, IIRC.
You can increase it by disabling tt mode (and applying the skas patch to the
host) or by setting CONFIG_KERNEL_HALF_GIGS to 2.
And that error needs to be somewhat more user-friendly.
