So, to answer the original question, unless someone else starts working again 
on it, it won't get fixed by itself, nor by the current UML developers (we 
haven't bothered working on it - or didn't even know).

This is the first complaint I see, so it means that slirp is not of much use, 
while there is other urgent work to do.
