I will try this same kernel (compiled and run) on a SuSE 9.1 host shortly.
The kernel launches correctly on the SuSE 9.1 host (compiled locally). Now to see if it has any impact on the bind issue...
The new kernel (2.6.9-bb4) appears to, at least, have improved the stability of
SuSE 9.1 running bind. With over 24 hours of running time, none of the named
services have either shutdown or started consuming CPU time.
It is looking VERY promising!
